As I an architecture student, I needed a powerful desktop replacement that could provide amazing power, while still being somewhat portable. Luckily, as it was to be a gift, I was able to get everything I needed, and not skimp as a typical student would. So, here is a review of the E1705 with every... Read full review »

Inspiron Series:

The Inspiron series was designed for the hip, new generation users as well as for the high-end power users. It showcases stylish design and a great price, unlike the Latitudes which are usually dull/uninspiring to look at but very robust... Read full review »

It's like working on a desktop

byhchen42 Apr 14, 2006

Pros performance, performance, performance.
Cons plastic casing. This is one huge, thick laptop.
Recommended it? Yes

Important note: The performance here is based on personal experience with other laptops, ACER 3003 (AMD 3000), Toshiba Satellite 5105-S501 (P4M 1.7 Ghz), and is based on my personal usage and NOT base on any performance utility.

Judging by the size, it is a desktop! I know, I know, it's a... Read full review »

Over the last year I have had 8 computers and have not been satified with any of them. I was good with my Imac G5 but when dual core came out I wanted that. I was going to get a imac Dual Core but they were a little expensive for a non-laptop, so I decided to take my search else where.

Power of a desktop in a sleek laptop form

Pros Beautiful screen, fast loading, insane amount of ports, ability to multi-task.
Cons Weight, battery life, price (depending on configuration).
Recommended it? Yes

The hard drive in my family desktop computer decided it was time to say goodbye to this world so I thought now would be a good time to upgrade and invest in my own computer, preferably a laptop with the power of a desktop. This way my dad can use the desktop (after new hard drive) for his very own... Read full review »

Pros Superb speed, appearance, ease of storage, media capabilities, graphics and vivid color...
Cons Touch mouse took some getting used to. Other than that, nothing!

Sleek, reliable, powerful - money well spent! The price was right, too. It was a 2007 New Year's Resolution to buy a Dell laptop because I am an on-line instructor. I must have reliable technology in order to do my job, so this isn't the area to cut corners.

I am very satisfied with this... Read full review »

I replaced a Toshiba Satelite Series P4 laptop with this and this machine is amazing. The Dual core processor performance is more than just noticeable. The biggest surprise for me is the weight of this machine. Before I received the machine I was expecting it to weigh a ton with the 17" screen and... Read full review »

Great Small Business Laptop!

Pros Great monitor. Wireless works flawlessly with standard wifi card.
Cons A bit heavy. Standard battery only lasts 2.5 hours on a full charge.
Recommended it? Yes

My wife and I run an ebay powerseller store and recently found the need to move to a wireless solution for the home. At first we thought that we would only use the laptop to sit in front of the tv and not do any actual powerful work on it. However, this laptop is powerful enough to run TurboLister...
